"The bad fruit I see in my family (Older kids with closed hearts and losing their love of learning, strife between siblings) has something to do with me and how I've treated them with my selfishness. I've been distracted by saying 'yes' to many ministry and homeschool co-op opportunities that God didn't ask me to do. The solution to my bad fruit starts with me following my Helper, the Holy Spirit, to the cross when He points out some selfish motivation that needs to get taken there. Right now, my family is finishing up our commitments in a homeschool co-op we've been part of for years. We're sad to lessen connections with the other families there, but excited to dive into our unique learning processes. We're all in unity about the decision! I'm ready to be completely available to love on my kids and help them through their daily conflicts."  ~ Heather D

I have to take responsibility for my own relationship with the Lord and begin to obey the Holy Spirit as He speaks to my conscience. “What's good for my children is good for me! If I want to see change in my home and our relationships I need to first examine my own heart and relating habits, letting the Lord parent me first so that I can parent my children according to His ways of love. I cannot expect things from my kids that I am not already walking in myself, expecting them to be more mature than I am. (One example was when I would get angry at my kids for being angry with each other.) It all starts with me!"

As I understand His will I bring loving correction and instruction to my family, discerning what their true needs are. He will help me correct and instruct my family when I obey the Lord. And choose to be 100% wrong. I must admit to my family how I have sinned against them. With time and the Lord's help, I can turn my relationships around, like a ship turning around." ~ Jeri P
